Today I am going to share a story about the law of attraction. After meeting with a production company at CBS Studios that produce the soaps, Guiding Light and One Life To Live which by the way was an awesome experience, I entered the lift to leave the building. Before I continue I must tell you that I ended both a professional and business relationship and as soon as I did I felt free. Although disappointing I felt like all this heaviness had been removed and I was ready to embrace the day. So I let it go and trusted that ending the relationship was best for us both. So as I said, I was in the lift and I hear these two women talking about Women’s Health (a fabulous MAGAZINE) and then I realized that the woman in the lift was from the publishing company maybe an editor? I thought well I better say hello and introduce myself and of course BODYLOVE! So we are talking away about our projects and I then this woman hands me her card and says “I know you Ingrid” and I say, “you do?” Um I am totally perplexed. “Well, you emailed me” she replies. I am Maria Rodale. Stunned for a second, I responded ” Wow you are? I love what you are doing. You’re amazing. We must talk!” See Maria Rodale is the Chairwoman of one of the largest health and wellness publishing companies in the world. Maria tells me a bit more about her project and suggests that we might be able to link sites. She has a green initiative and then I remember that a contact of mine at Pepsi is looking for green type content. I let her know. Of course this woman no doubt has these people on her speed dial but I share my little bit of knowledge with her.
I do of course remember emailing her, during that blur when I first arrived back in the States six weeks ago. I suspected she brushed me off because I never heard from her and I had yet to follow up. She then expressed an apology for not getting back to me, which made me feel good. It is nice to know she actually read my email!
Meeting a woman who is doing what I want to do is always exciting. We commit to catching up soon and then we leave the building. But alas we are stuck on 10th avenue with no cabs and then I see Maria doing the same thing, searching for a cab on the corner of the street. I see a free cab parked on the side of the street and I shout (as you do in NYC) “Sir are you free?” He nods and I give the cab to Maria to take. Maria then kindly offers me to ride with her but alas I am headed in the opposite direction. So you never know what may transpire here but for me this affirmed the law of manifestation and I honestly believe our mind, thoughts and feelings, create wonderful realties when we are ready to let them in.
Sometimes it’s hard to let relationships go but if it doesn’t flow I really believe it is best to let it go. In order to let the new people in (or new energy) it sometimes is necessary to clear out what doesn’t bring you ease and grace. The remainder of my day only got better but I will keep that bit private!
All I can say is create with your mind and see it evolve. I love it when attraction works for the good this way. I suppose it comes down to trusting God or creator, the universe, the stars, the moon, ourselves and our dreams! Bring it on I say. Bring it on!
