There are only 21 days till my wedding! Woo hoo! I promised to share some of juicy tips on what I’m doing to prepare for my big day to look and feel fabulous! So what’s a girl to do when she’s pulled in five different directions – wedding, my coaching business, house renovation, my iTunes show – Love, Sex & Money, pitching TV shows, a book deadline and her own personal wellbeing?
PRIORITIZE, PLAN & THEN SURRENDER!
Like all of you, I’m extremely busy so I’ve had to prioritize and let go in order to stay sane, healthy and happy! How we manage our wedding kind of sums up how we manage life really! How’s that you ask? Well, we put so much hope, planning, time, money and energy into expecting it to turn out just how we planned it both with life and getting married! But when does everything ever go exactly as we envision it? Pretty much never.
I’ve learned that when you let go of perfection to become perfectly you life gets more rich and juicy! I’ve carried that ethos into my wedding preparations too! Of course I’m preparing for an awesome day but I’ve got a laisssez faire and a big dose of what will be will be, attitude going down! Honestly, I don’t know how else to do it unless I want to be a knotted ball of stress!
What I’ve found in my life is when I hold a clear vision and then allow synchronicity, energy and the universe to take over, that’s when plans work out better than you dreamed! When you hold on too tight and don’t let what needs to come in ENTER and what needs to go out, EXIT, life just doesn’t flow as well. Period. Trust me I used to push, control and force and after ten years of that hell, I decided to surrender and live with a lot more trust and that’s when life got grand, juicy and loved up. I’ve used this new groovy attitude in every area of my life and the more I practice it the better and more beautiful life becomes.
To top it off, we’re having the wedding ceremony at our house currently under renovation. Each weekend and most evenings are spent with a paint brush in hand or rushing around doing laundry and cooking for my fiancé and my father as they work like Trojans to get the house ready for our rocking wedding party. I’m very aware that this situation could be a catastrophe so I’m upping the anti on self-care.
Note to self: Do NOT renovate a house whilst preparing for a wedding!
I’m manifesting being The Bodylicious Bride by following the Bodylove Diet. I naturally have a ‘sharing is caring’ nature so part of my regime is focusing a bit more on ME!
I think this is pretty much a constant in all of our lives despite our circumstances. We do our best to balance it all and sometimes we rock it and others times everything gets a little crazy. So today, I’ll do a bit of work and then stop at 3pm SHARP. I will do my best and get in a good dose of rest by doing what I need to do in a deliberate, conscious and playful way. I will slow down to speed up, ensuring that I don’t get sick cause I’m running on empty! Now, that’s no good for anyone’s beauty baby!
In my past life I was addicted to speed. Not the drug you put in your mouth but the fast moving rocket speed life I created. My huge learning was to TRUST & RELAX and not has those two new features in my life improved my energy but it’s also made me a manifestation mojo and weight loss Queen! How fabulous!
My life has never been easier or more pleasure filled! I have more of what I want with ease! Go figure! But in actuality it’s really a science and not some fluke. It’s a combo effect of the law of love, intention, energy, emotion and food, all working in harmony together for rocking health on every level. Sometimes, I might have a slight wobble but I know myself and my body and I listen when it says – TIME OUT! I learned this the hard way so now I really do live it. When I was at my worst I could barely function. That’s what high stress, fear and adrenal fatigue can do to a girl. So start loving your body by being kind. Trust yourself and it’s wisdom. That will never fail you. Not listening will.
THE BODYLICOUS BRIDE by BODYLOVE DIET:
Step One – Intention:
Create your vision by asking yourself what you want? Write it down for clarity. It’s just like planting a seed then all you need to do is water it with love and action!
I set a clear intention around what I want to create on my wedding day. In my invitation, I clearly stated to ‘bring your dancing shoes’ because I want to create and communicate a sense of celebration and playfulness. I’m deliberating letting everyone know that the wedding is not a stuffy affair and to let the good times roll!
I’m visualizing the energy, the space, the outfit, the food, the energy of the catering staff and setting clear energetic boundaries with family and loved ones.
Step Two – Energetic Boundaries:
Everyone’s stuff is their business to deal with, not yours!
If you really want to be healthy, you must energetically and emotionally step back. Instead of being fragmented in lots of little pieces with your energy and attention all over the place, you come home to your body and reclaim your focus, energy and deliberate creation = manifestation mojo!
In order to stay grounded and to effectively manage everything I have on my plate, I need to effectively manage what I take on an my expectations. This is a special time for my partner and I and in order for me not be an exhausted mess at the time of my wedding, I have no time for drama or being at everyone’s beck and call. So sometimes, I need to cull my to do list and do less to be kind to myself. What can you do to focus more on you?
GIVE TO YOURSELF TO FUEL YOUR SOUL!
I can be a giver but at this time I really need to give to myself and to the wedding. When people want my time or I sense a freak out coming from someone I love, I stand in my power energetically, smile and say something loving and reassuring and move on, focused on what I need to do and how I want to feel. If we work from the premise that thoughts become things, I certainly don’t want to be buying into everyone else thoughts and emotions!
The remedy is to send love to all and to myself and then disconnect and focus on my intention: peace, happiness, abundance and feeling fabulous and looking fabulous.
Step – Three Clarity = Simplification:
Once you have clarity and you know what you want the universe will bend over backwards to give it to you.
The vital step for me was knowing pretty much exactly what feeling and energy of the day I wanted to create and then I let go. From how I want to look and feel to how the food tastes, I know what I’m creating. The really important aspect for my partner and is the energy of love, celebration and friendship! The rest is not really that important.
Because I am very clear about what I want everything is falling into place and all sorts of other gifts, blessing and surprises are coming my way. From choosing the catering company to the makeup and hair artist and photographer I’m using, each person has a great vibe and is in alignment with our big day!
Step Four – Let Things Go, Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself & Prioritize
I need to watch my health and so I prioritize my nourishment. It’s not a luxury but a necessity. I don’t want to be exhausted for the big day so I decided that everything must be done with the house one week prior to the wedding to give me time to chill, breathe and do some delicious girl pampering.
After a weekend of back to back renovation I need me some BIG CHILL TIME, only I have my book to write and a list a mile long. Have you ever experienced a similar dilemma? I’m sure you have!
I’ve had to let my book writing go a little in order to focus on preparing the wedding and that was big for me. Not feeling like I had to get it all completed before we depart because my life right now is on overload. Sometimes you just have to say, to heck with it! It will be finished when it’s finished. Ironically, when I do sit down to write once a week even for a few hours, I get a lot completed and it’s flowing beautifully, without FORCE. The minute I push everything gets HARD and I’m swiftly reminded to chill the F out! It’s amazing but the book is almost full written! Woo Hoo! Now, that’s a big lesson about incremental action = many small steps become huge strides and gains. It’s the same with weight loss, business and relationships!

I am clearing the energy that no longer serves me. I am love and I am loved. I attract divine connections and my relationships are full of beauty. With each breath I take I’m healing. I’m releasing all that doesn’t belong to me. My body is beaming in light, love and beauty. My digestive system is on fire and metabolism is purring along. Thank you!
Slow Down For Weight Loss
Sometimes in life we need to slow down to speed up! That’s a big thing I’ve had to master and trust. I don’t need to rush! Neither do you! If we really trust life, our bodies, ourselves and our careers then why rush? Food for thought right?
You don’t need to rush and truth be told rushing just creates more stress = more fat and fear! EEK! So take in a big dose of Vitamin (T)rust and mix it with Vitamin (S)low Down, if you want to create in a new grounded mode. It will be a richer and more joyful experience I can assure you.

Any diet that’s not loving is a waste of your time and detrimental to your physical, spiritual, and emotional health. Step Six – Movement Mojo:

If I miss a day of exercise then I don’t think about it. I just resume the following day but I really do have to make it a priority. Otherwise I will sit at the computer all day writing or on the phone with clients and weeks can go by with no movement mojo.
I’m aware that in three weeks time if I want to feel super duper fabulous then I need ensure that I fit it in even for 30 minutes a day. If I need to take a break for thirty minutes in the afternoon I do and I can tell you it improves my mood and brings me to a more abundant frame of mind.
When you take care of yourself you’re invoking self-love and the energy of manifestation. Essentially, when we take good care of ourselves (especially in the midst of chaotic lives) we are cultivating trust and putting out a clear energetic call that we are deserving and that all is well. Then the magic takes place! Life gives you more of that juicy loved up energy. The more you love yourself the more life and your body loves you back. Pain and struggle fade and pleasure and beauty reign!
Step 7 – Bodylove Body Brushing:
To detox and move the chi and lymph body brush daily!
It’s easy, fast and a cheap and it really works to improve skin texture too! Get naked and brush our body from the soles of your feet working your way up your legs, your front (belly & breasts) and your back, brushing vigorously as you feel able to. Then do your hands and up your arms. Focus the brush strokes towards the heart. Don’t do your face but give the back of your neck and your scalp (hair permitting) a good go! For hygiene reasons use a separate brush for each member of the family and of course wash the brush every couple of weeks.

Step 8 – Family Drama:
If your energy is full of LOVE you can stop drama dead in it’s tracks!
So how do I deal with family dynamics and potential drama? Once again hold my vision and intention. As soon as anything starts to get a bit dicey I send out love, remain very grounded, focus on my intention and shut down any funky fear based stuff.
My parents divorced about 20 years ago and now we are all coming together for my wedding. I really won’t allow anyone else fear to effect me. I stay grounded in LOVE and allow miracles to unfold. One of my family members was stressing out and kept saying “I’m worried”. Hmmm I thought. I then responded with “ Why are you worried”. She couldn’t really say but it’s her usual response to stress. You know, I’ll just worry the F out it and maybe that will help? When does that ever help? So I listened. Did not buy into it, gave her a hug and said, it’s going to be fantastic and don’t worry and kind of cut off the conversation. I had to do this a few more times until this person stopped doing it! Now it’s smooth sailing! If I had reacted in fear matching her worry with worry then it could have been a disaster waiting to happen! I used to buy into it but not anymore. I see it for what it is “fear” and don’t buy into it. At this time right now, we are all healing and releasing old baggage as we move towards and embody the energy of love and celebration.
There is a family member that I’m not close to and saying we have some intense history is an understatement. Although she’s been invited to the wedding she’s not coming. I made sure not to talk about it too much, I cried and let it go. I’m at peace with her decision and I trust that it’s played out how it’s meant to. I also let her know that I would not judge her decision as good or bad. I feel divinely protected and guided.
My intention is so strong that everything is coming together to match my vision. I’ve even met some great new friends over the last couple of months and a few oldies that have returned who are taking up more space in my life and it’s nothing short of beautiful.
Step 9 – Breathe of Life:
Breathing in life opens to the body and soul to expansion, relaxation, weight loss and clarity!
I ensure that I’m breathing in life and the energy of love and trust. When I feel a freak out coming on. I stop, rest, regroup and breathe deep. Every baby on the planet has breathing nailed but most of us adults seem to breathe shallow! Breathing is restorative. It can cleanse us of toxins that have built up in the body and the mind. It can help rid us of worries and tensions and bring us back to our true nature and our true place in the timeless universe. This most basic and essential of all our activities can also be the most transformative.

Step 10 – Sleeping Goddess:
Studies have shown those who sleep less weigh more.
I’m making sure I get at least 7- 8 hours of sleep a tight. I’m waking at 5.30am at the moment so trying to get to bed by 9pm allowing my body to heal and rejuvenate. You can read more about this in the Bodylove Beauty Foods E-Book but when you don’t sleep enough, it drives leptin levels down which means you don’t feel satisfied after you eat. Lack of sleep apart from being torturous causes ghrelin to rise stimulating your appetite. Ever notice that you are ravenous after having a bad nights sleep? So do your best to sleep in a dark room and get to bed as early as you can.
- I will steam a few times! I love the Turkish baths, they have a shower in them so they it’s steam and water combo and they really improve my skin! Try it sometime or have a bath at home!
- Get a massage prior to the wedding
- A good nights sleep the night before unless I wake up super early! EEK! Which is highly likely!
